Passing eight seasons, it is one of CBS's most watched prime time television show. The cases, plots, and shocking twists make it addicting for crime fans.

 Steps

Know the CSI "gang". Catherine Willows, Nick Stokes, Greg Sanders, Jim Brass, Riley Adams, and Ray Langston. There is then Dr. Robbins, who works as the Coroner, and the lab technician, David Hodges.

Realize that the entire CSI gang has been involved in something "big", whether it has changed their personal lives or a shocking season-ender that turned into a case of their own.

Nick was kidnapped and buried in a glass case in the middle of the desert.

Catherine's father was shot in front of her.

Jim Brass was shot in a hostage situation but lived through surgery.

Sara was kidnapped and tossed under a car during a heavy storm. The storyline was created for a departure due to contract deals. The writers didn't want to kill off her character just in case something rose up and to have an opportunity to come back.

For 2007-2008's season finale, Warrick Brown was shot by the sheriff. The 2008-2009's season premiere, it was confirmed that Brown is dead and the sheriff was caught by CSI.

For the December 11, 2008's episode, it was revealed that Gil Grissom (played by William Petersen) was going to be departing the show and was being replaced by Ray Langston (played by Laurence Fishburne).

Watch re-runs on Spike TV, mark calendars of CSI marathons during Spring Break week, and tune to CBS every Thursday night for new episodes. Have nothing to do during summer? Re-runs!

Develop an interest in a character. How does this character work with others? What makes them unique? What do you like about them? Are there any flaws with them? After a while, become a fan of theirs.

Realize that people will tease you for being a CSI nerd.

 Video

 Tips

If you want a bonus, Eric Szmanda and his CSI character, Greg Sanders, are alike: they're both Marilyn Manson fans[1]. Usually, Gil will come into the lab room and find Greg listening to Marilyn Manson and other artists.

It may be tempting, but don't read online spoilers to get tips for the upcoming shows.

CSI may get addicting -- take a break and try watch other crime related shows, for example Cold Case, Without a Trace, or Criminal Minds. Cold Case focuses to solve the unsolved mystery cases (some over 60 years ago). Without a Trace focuses on the "missing people" list, which relates to the real life Amber Alert and missing cases throughout the nation. Criminal Minds is a show that looks into the psychology and philosophy of criminal's minds and solves cases based on theories and evidence.

 Warnings

CSI may be graphic to some people, as it shows blood, deceased people, autopsies, skeletons, and other things. Scenes may show how the crime happened, for example someone stabbing someone else, mild sexual acts, and someone falling off a building and hitting the ground.
